The Commission on Public Integrity offers numerous publications regarding the law. A description of those publications follows, together with links to many of them. The Commission also has a training videotape and DVD that explain the basics of the ethics law. All are available by contacting the Commission.

Ethics in State Government: A Guide for New York State Employees

Gifts: The Commission has issued Advisory Opinion No. 94-16, describing (1) those gifts that may not be offered to or accepted by State officers and employees, and (2) those gifts that are acceptable. This publication covers the most important points. HTML
New York State Employees and Political Activity: For those planning to participate in campaigns, this publication is offered as a guide to help candidates (although all of the items listed may not be applicable to those who currently hold a State office and are seeking re-election) and political workers avoid violations of law. This 15-minute video/DVD summarizes the law and offers examples of activities that are specifically addressed by the law.

Public Officers Law Booklet: This booklet contains the sections of the Public Officers Law over which the Commission has jurisdiction. It also includes the section of Executive Law creating the Commission and listing its powers, as well as the Commission's regulations.
