Previously, he built his own law firm and engaged in many lawsuits involving the rights of large classes of individuals. From 1972 to 1977, he served as the founding Legal Director of the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund. Mr. Teitelbaum has served as a consultant to the United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and as a cooperating counsel to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. He is a graduate of Brandeis University and New York University School of Law.
